Honorable Deputy Minister of Digital Economy (Engineer) Eranga Weeraratne delivered the keynote lecture at the annual meeting of the Sri Lanka-Australia-New Zealand Business Council on July 7, where he focused more on accelerating the digital economy in Sri Lanka, Starlink Connection, GovPay and SLUD Explained about major projects, including digital ID. The Minister here also emphasized the importance of digital infrastructure improvements like Cloud 3.0 and the importance of state-private partnerships and projects such as Disrupt Asia and the Sri Lanka FinTech Summit, emphasizing the need to transition to a cashless, all-covered digital economy.
Further commenting he explained about Sri Lanka's national AI policy and also commented on local innovations in AI-powered services.

He introduced Sri Lanka’s National AI Policy and spotlighted local innovations in AI-powered services, reaffirming the government’s commitment to a future-ready, people-first digital transformation.
