2025 නොවැම්බර් මස 24 දින මාකුඹුර බහුවිධ මඟී ප්රවාහන පර්යන්තයේදී ඩිජිටල් ආර්ථික අමාත්යාංශයේ උපදේශකත්වයෙන් , ප්රවාහන අමාත්යංශය මඟින් දියත් කරන ලද බස් රථ ගාස්තු බැංකු කාඩ්පත් භාවිතයෙන් ඩිජිටල් ලෙස ගෙවීමේ නියමු ව්යාපෘතිය ගරු, ප්රවාහන, මහාමාර්ග සහ නාගරික සංවර්ධන අමාත්‍ය බිමල් රත්නායක මහතාගේ ප්‍රධානත්වයෙන් සාර්ථකව ඇරඹින. මෙම ව්යාපෘතිය ඩිජිටල් ආර්ථික අමාත්යාංශය යටතේ ක්‍රියාත්මක වන රජයේ ඩිජිටල්කරණ වැඩ පිලිවෙලේ පුළුල් ව්‍යාපෘතියක් වන අතර එය සමස්ත මගී ප්රවාහන ක්ෂේත්රය නවීකරණය කිරීමේ අරමුණින් ආරම්භ කෙරේ.ඒ අනුව පළමු අදියරයේදී මාර්ග 20 කට ආසන්න සංඛ්‍යාවක බස් ගාස්තු බැංකු කාඩ්පත් මඟින් ගෙවීමට පහසුකම් හිමිවේ.
‘Bus fare digital payments’ project launches innovative digital solutions for bus owners and passengers.
The pilot project to pay bus fees digitally using bank cards launched by the Ministry of Digital Finance at the Makumbura Multipleway Transport Terminal on 24th November 2025, by the Ministry of Transportation, Highways and Urban Development, Minister Bimal Rathnayake successfully launched. The project is a comprehensive project in the government's digitalization work operating under the Ministry of Digital Finance, which is initiated with the aim of revamping the entire passenger transport sector. Accordingly, in the first phase, nearly 20 roads will be facilitated to pay bus fees by bank cards.
